5% of Americans claim they never get lyrics wrong, with almost half (47%) confessing they find it a bit embarrassing to get caught singing the incorrect words.
Findings also revealed that Americans are passionate about getting the words right with 78% saying they have had arguments with friends, family or colleagues over incorrect lyrics. Various methods of correcting a friend getting words wrong have been adopted with everything from singing louder than them with the right words (48%), sending someone a link to a lyrics website (22%) and even some that resort to changing the track that is playing (5%).
